Parenting Coordination

Some custody cases can be more adversarial than others.  Parents who are unable to resolve even minor disputes hire attorneys and spend money to go back to court repeatedly.  It takes time to schedule issues before a judge.  A parent coordinator is a trained individual familiar with custody cases and conflict resolution.  A PC helps resolve disputes between parents outside of court to reach a faster resolution, keeping the focus on the best interests of the children.

Parent coordinators can be chosen voluntarily by the parties or by a court order, and have authority to resolve certain custodial disagreements.  While attorneys and judges try to draft child custody orders that will work for the foreseeable future, it is impossible to anticipate all possible conflicts.  When the parties cannot resolve their differences even with a court order, a parent coordinator can be great alternative to returning to the courtroom.
