For those of you with grandparents or parents in a nursing home, the federal rules for the nursing home facilities have been revised.
The new regulations will take effect over the next three years. We believe you will find these revisions will benefit your loved one. The requirements that are now in effect include:
– Allowing the residents to have choices concerning meals and choice of roommates
– Residents can challenge discharges and not be discharged for nonpayment in certain situation.
– Facilities have stricter hiring requirements to expand protection for residents from abuse.
