Here are some tips you’ve been looking for!

If you find yourself at home with your children and there are assignments to be completed and work to be done, here are a few tips to make this time less stressful.

1. Set up a schedule.
Children love routine! Your child’s teacher may have sent one that you can tweak to make your own. Let your child help you create a schedule. Oftentimes it helps to get more challenging subjects completed in the morning. Have your child up and ready to begin the day.

2. Create a learning environment in your home.
Establish a place where your child feels comfortable and let them make it his or her own space. Remember, each child learns differently.

3. Take breaks.
Children need a break! At school your child has time during the day to refresh his or her mind. Give them that opportunity at home. So, take a break from a challenging math problem or a long reading passage. Brain breaks are important.

You and your child will get through this time with patience and understanding. This is an adjustment for everyone in the family. Take one day at a time and always reach out to your child’s teacher with questions or concerns.
